Friday night we went to see our friends from MS, the Gipsons. We spent the night...Daddy Buck left Saturday around lunch time to go hunting while the boys and I spent the remainder of the day playing in the "country" with our friends.

Here's a quick recap of all we did with a few pictures to follow: Friday night high school football game, four lab-mix puppies to play with, feeding sugar cubes to the horse, riding the four-wheeler, picking lettuce from the garden, and family fun day with church friends ending the evening with a hayride.

Thank you Gips!! We had a blast!! See you in November for the LSU football game...

There will be pictures later in the week....
For now, I can tell you that Daddy Buck killed a 150+ sal (hog) on his hunting trip this weekend. It was his first kill!! And, with a bow&arrow!! Yeah Dad!!

The boys and I, along with my friend Mama Olive and her son Little Lou, went to the pumpkin patch today.

There we partook in a petting zoo, face painting, milking a cow, picking, pumpkin painting, rolling down the hill, swinging, and enjoying the many animal statues.

It was a magnificent fall day...cool morning, warm afternoon, cool evening!!

patriotism, military support, and ulimately, GOD...still present in schools today

This is a recording during a high school assembly. The first verse is sung by the local elementary school students and then the high school students join in. A father of one of the students recorded the performance, added some graphics and posted it on the internet for all the world to enjoy.

Happy Friday!

Flashback Friday

Almost exactly two years ago, I captioned this photo..... "Babysitting"!
It's one of my all-time favorites!

Out of the mouths....{OMG!!!}

as we are discussing how Buck-a-roo's day was at school today, he proceeds to explain to me why girls and boys don't use the bathroom together...

Buck-a-roo: "Mom, did you know that boys' "birdies" are a straight line and girls' "birdies" are a circle...that is why we don't poddy together"

Me: {speechless}

****************************************************
Frank-o comes walking toward me the other day and ask me to hold him and then says...

Frank-o: "Mudher, my body hurts"

Me: "Really?!?"

Frank-o: :"Yea, Oh Man!!"

****************************************************

I swear I could post an 'out of the mouths' post daily because that's how often they crack me up!!!

Let's play 'Name That Tune'

{be sure to mute the music player at the bottom of the page}

What's that? You have no flippin' idea!?! Listen again to a more refined version of the same tune...

And, one more time just for the heck of it...

What's Buck-a-roo doing with the chair, you ask?? Well, "DANCING", of course!!

Also, listen in the background for Frank-o to correct Buck-a-roo's lyrics from "...red and yellow, black and white". Frank-o adds in "GREEN"!!

5 gallon buckets of water

If you read yesterday's post, I told you that Daddy Buck and the boys washed my car and bathed the dogs. That's not all they did...Buck-a-roo and Frank-o also "worked" with 5 gallon buckets of water and the water hose. I'm sure you will remember this post from not too long ago...my boys LOVE the water hose. The only problem with this rather simple form of entertainment is that there isn't TWO water hoses.

Yes...it's mid-October

Yes...we are still wearing shorts and sweating here in south Louisiana in mid-October

Yes...my kids played in the water hose for an hour yesterday in mid-October
