random thoughts

It's Friday....TGIF!!

*****************************************

Daddy Buck had the unfortunate experience of attending the funeral of a premature infant yesterday that was the grandson of one of his salespeople. This little, little boy had fought for life for several weeks and lost his battle this week and I know there is a special place in heaven in God's hands for this sweet baby, Cruz.

Though I don't speak of it much, I do realize that we are most blessed for the not one, but two miracles that have been bestowed upon us in Buck-a-roo (born at 31 weeks after many, many weeks of pre-tem labor and in NICU for 2 weeks) and Frank-o (born at 37 weeks after 20 weeks of bedrest following ruptured membranes at 17 weeks). I give thanks daily for them and couldn't imagine life any other way.

Jocelyn's (my neighbor and close friend) mother is receovering well from her aneurysm repair. She is expected to have her feeding tube removed today and with extensive daily therapy is up and about walking to the restroom, watching television in the chair for extended periods, and even went outdoors yesterday evening for some fresh air. Thanks to all my wonderful blog readers for your thoughts, prayers, and comments.

While she has been in AL, I have been getting her youngster from preschool/daycare and keeping him in the evening until his dad gets home from work. Three boys (ages 2, 3, 4) for snacktime, dinnertime, bathtime, and destroy-the-bedroom-time has been interesting!!

If it couldn't have been our LSU Tigers in the BCS Championship last night, then I'm glad that an SEC won the match-up. Way to go Florida Gators!!

Our football following is officially over for now (our New Orleans Saints aren't in the playoffs) and we will now turn our attention to LSU Baseball, ranked #1 as we head into the 2009 season that kicks off in February.

Have a terrific weekend!!

On tap for us this weekend....a lunch date with friends at Chick-fil-A on Saturday, date night for Daddy Buck and I on Saturday night, and church on Sunday morning.

prayers needed

The details are sketchy at this point, but I am asking for your prayers for my dear friend, Jocelyn's, mother. Apparently my friend had to travel to Alabama in the middle of the night last night because her mother had a brain aneurysm and may have to undergo brain surgery in the near future.

Please pray for God to work through the doctors and nurses at her side and for her complete recovery.

Let us not forget that our LSU Tigers are playing tonight in the Chick-fil-A bowl in Atlanta, Georgia. GEAUX Tigers!! Beat Georgia Tech!!

Holiday Fun!! (Post #151 WOW!!)

Friday night, the boys and I, accompanied by our neighbors, trekked downtown for the Christmas Festival of lights.

IT WAS COLD!! We were so tightly bundled and decked out in our new gloves and knit caps....we didn't even realize how cold it really was!! That is, of course, until we made it to the fake, shaved snow cone ice snow exhibit.

As I mentioned on Friday, we went Saturday morning to the Mall of Louisiana for Breakfast with Santa hosted by the hospital where I work.

The boys loved the balloon artist that made each of them a balloon shaped like spiderman dangling from a web.

The highlight of the morning is the fact that both of my boys stood within arms' reach of Santa Claus (ignore the small detail that I had to stand with them.....it's progress people) without freaking out and my friend was able to snap this picture.

It's not professional, but I do believe it's as close to pictures with Santa as I'm going to get this year....so, I'll take it.

How we roll....

On Wednesday, it was warm enough outside to play and Daddy Buck was off; so, we decided to get our boys from school, as well as, the two neighborhood boys from school so we could all play outside. {What were we thinking?}

Check out the video of the four of them "gettin their roll on"!!

Daddy Buck had just cut the brown, dead-from-cooler-weather grass and there were fresh clippings on the ground which made for a great game for the four boys.

Hot Air Balloon Festival 2008

Yesterday the boys, myself, and our neighbors went to the hot air balloon festival in Baton Rouge and Daddy Buck met us there after work. There was a children's village, hot air balloon ascension, hot air balloon glow, Black Night parachuters, and a fireworks display. Frank-o was mesmerized by the hot air balloons; he kept saying, "Look Mommy..big one, 'nother big one"!

This lovely photograph was taken by my wonderful neighbor, Jocelyn and if I didn't give her credit for the phtography I would have been in some kind of trouble :~)

Boys and their Toys

Thanks Uncle Jason for returning our four-wheeler today!! As you will notice from the pictures below, Harley and Cody could barely jump from the car fast enough to hop on and pretend to ride (note the car doors left wide open with milk from the grocery store inside). Harley said, "Come on Mom, show me how to start it"! Sure, why not??

Jack took all the kiddos for a ride this afternoon. Well, all except, Brooke and Jake, our one year old twin neighbors.

Have a great weekend everyone!! Thanks for continuing to check in on our chaos, organized chaos!!
