Laughter Lives Tuesday

Laughter LivesThis post is part of "Laughter Lives! Tuesday" on the Riggs Family Blog. Check our their blog to read everyone else's "Laughter Lives!" posts.

I am attempting to participate in another blog carnival; this one on Tuesdays. Can I keep up--we shall see. This blog carnival just began this week...It is Laughter Lives Tuesday and is sponsored by Brent at ...where laughter lives. They are a great family with a terrific story that does fabulous work, so check 'em out.

This week's theme for Laughter Lives Tuesday is kids...

*** Tonight I brought my boys and a friend to McDonald's for dinner and to play in the PlayPlace area. We were the only people there, so the three boys were playing Hide&Seek after eating. Here's Frank-o's version of being the "seeker":

"one, two, free, four, five, six, sebin, eight, nine, ten! evfree or not, here I AM"!!

*** Also tonight as I was putting the boys to bed, Buck-a-roo attempts to explain to me just how much he loves me:

{as he is making a triangle gesture with his fingers}

Buck-a-roo: "Mom, do you know what this is?"
Me: "A triangle?"
Buck-a-roo: "No, it's means hundred frouzand ten..that's how much I love you!"

It's Baaaack!!

Remember this post where I addressed the sinkhole that formed in our front yard in the days following Hurricane Gustav. And, this post where I discussed the hope that the sinkhole had been fixed.
As the title of this post eludes to....it's back! and this is the site of my front yard this morning.

Let the digging begin....

How many municipal parish employees, dressed like human orange cones, does it take to decide what causes above pictured sinkhole, how to best resolve above pictured sinkhole, actually resolve above pictured sinkhole, and return a family's front yard to some state of normalcy?? That is yet to answered. But, when the number is decided...throw in a couple handful extra to stand on the outside and look in!

Don't get me wrong...these men were incredibly nice, admittedly dumbfounded, and enormously apologetic. Still, little answer as to why?

A rather large hole was dug, water was found, the "larger than last incidence" hole was filled with Mexican Lymestone, dirt was replaced and now we wait and see! Are you kidding me?

Though my front yard did look like a state of natural disaster, mixed with mass confusion, and lots of mud....at least it was a beautiful, full of sun, brisk breeze, 55+ degrees, type of day with several flowers remaining in bloom in this the third week of January.

Weekend Wrap-up

I haven't posted a weekend wrap-up in quite sometime and we had several outings (and in-ings) worth noting this weekend, so here it is...

Following our longs naps (that were following our Saturday morning trip to the pediatrician's office), the boys played PlayDoh, with the very same PlayDoh playset that my brother and I used 20+ years ago.

Really, for me as a mom, is there anything better than PlayDoh?!? It's endless inexpensive entertainment with relatively little mess and easy clean-up.

For dinner, we met Daddy Buck at a local, family establishment (the name is in the drink) that serves homestyle, cajun cuisine and offers a live band every Saturday night.

The boys, Frank-o especially, love music...live music....with guitars.....and drums!!

The dinner was good, the music was better, the bartender was the best!!

We went to Mass on Sunday morning and had lunch at Cracker Barrel, along with everyone else and their brother, your aunt's brother's mother-in-law, and my best friend's best friend.

On a rare occasion, we all wore blue jeans to church in preparation for our Sunday afternoon outing of BOWLING!!

Bowling shoes are only adorable and flattering when they are toddler-size 9 and 11!!

Daddy Buck and I have somewhat of a compeititive bone inside of us and it reers its ugly "head" when we bowl. We frequently bowl on the Wii and might I just say that I typically come out the winner and hold the record in our house for high score.

With that said, I usually do not win IRL (in real life)...that is, until today!! Final score -- Daddy Buck 106, PrincessMom 135. BooYah Baby!!

"Not Me!" Monday

**BTW: what in "samtarnation" is up with the spacing on this post...I corrected it 15+ times and still is NOT right!!

My "Not Me!" Monday list for this week is extra lengthy for some reason, I'm not really sure why that is and if that's a good thing or a not-so-good thing, so without further ado:

:: I DO NOT secretly wish that every Saturday night and Sunday morning could be a "Hometown Honeymoon" for Daddy Buck and I. That would be selfish of me and I would miss my children tremendously if it were every weekend. The effects of the time alone would probably lose its appeal too.

:: Daddy Buck DID NOT finally , after a week of being MIA, find our favorite Wii CD, Wii Sports, in the DVD player right where Frank-o had put it. That kid, that kid...

:: I DID NOT spend my Friday night fetching floating poop from the bathtub because my eldest, yes I said, eldest son, Buck-a-roo pooped in the tub during bathtime. I might expect that from Frank-o, but not my Buck-a-roo...what's going on?

:: I DID NOT have more blemishes to develop on my face in the past week than my entire teenage years combined.

:: While standing wrapped in his towel following bathtime several nights ago, Frank-o DID NOT grab himself, Michael Jackson-style and exclaim, "Mommy, I got balls!"! And, I DID NOT seriously just proclaim that to the world on this here blog. But seriously, how on earth would he, a two-year old, know of such a saying? {mortified}

:: Below IS NOT a picture of Frank-o's efforts at cleaning up the toys in his room before bathtime:

:: And, I DO NOT have a new big, fancy, schmancy camera and am still using my cell phone to capture pictures in my home where the above said camera is available for use.

:: I DID NOT laugh hysterically when I saw this truck

driving down the street in front of me the other day. And, I DID NOT find the "CARS" reference to be so darn cute that I whipped out the cell phone to snap a picture of it.

Top that for a week's worth of brutal honesty, if you dare...
Head on over to MckMama's blog for much, much, much more brutal honesty...

Mosaic Monday

I am trying my hand at a new blog carnival this week...Mosaic Monday, created by Lori at Simple Shutter. Each Monday, Lori posts a mosaic on her blog with Mr. Linky allowing others to join in on the fun and she posts a theme for next week's mosaic.

This week's theme...GAMES

(the pictures correspond with the descriptions below...left to right and top to bottom)

1. Frank-o ready to serve-it-up in a tennis match about a year ago with a racquet at least three times too big.

2. Buck-a-roo, two Christmases ago, playing with his "Boppers" given to him by Mam, my MIL. I'm still not sure, to this day, how the "Boppers" got holes in them and would no longer hold air {hee!hee!}.

3. A picture of the scoreboard during the final game at LSU's Alex Box Stadium. LSU's baseball team begins their 2009 season in less than a month in a brand-spanking new stadium and ranked #1.

4. Buck-a-roo uncooperatively laying in the middle of the field amidst a tantrum during his very first t-ball practice last summer. Needless to say, we didn't finish the season and we will try again this year, being a year older.

5. Buck-a-roo and Frank-o playing play-doh together...that's a game, right?

6. This is a frequently played game in our house...we call it "Piggy-pile Daddy"!!

7. Buck-a-roo opening his CandyLand Christmas gift given to him by his sweet friend, Jack. We have played, oh at least, 35 times since Christmas, less than one month ago.

8. Buck-a-roo and Frank-o playing an arcade game at a local pizza place. They love to go their for pizza and games regularly. Matter of fact, Buck-a-roo just recently questioned if we could go again soon; that kid forgets NOTHING.

9. Daddy Buck and I tailgating at this past football season's much anticipated LSU-Alabama SEC match-up. It was a great day of tailgating and a terrific football game, despite the fact that our LSU Tigers lost in overtime :(

This theme was somewhat difficult for me because my boys are still yet a little young for much organized board game play. So, I incorporated several different "plays" on the topic of GAMES.

i Heart Faces

you have seen this picture previously on this blog, but I really like it...so there you have it.

MISERABLE

alternately titled: PITIFUL

{here's what it looks like when you have to attempt to sleep with your mouth open because you are too congested to breath through your nose and you can't go longer than 10 seconds without coughing and startling yourself into another position in an effort to breath better and you are swaeting because you are finally breaking a fever that has hung on all morning}
