This week's topic: Funny things that have happened at church or a public event

Buck-a-roo will be four next month. The following story is from about a year ago....

We were at mass....the 0730 am mass; you know, the one where the church is primarily occupied with senior citizens and you can here a pin drop in the sanctuary at all times because the choir is not present, the sancutary is less crowded, and our elders are worshiping in complete silence.

Going to mass with, just turned, 2 & 3 year olds is quite a daunting task. It's a contant battle of shushing, rocking, entertaining, juicing, cheerio-ing, coloring and more shushing.

During the homily (sermon for all non-Catholics), Daddy Buck had scolded, disciplined, and forewarned Buck-a-roo for the last time and when he again acted out....Daddy Buck plucked him from underneath the pew and headed towards the vestibule area of the church, all the while Buck-a-roo is exclaiming at the top of his lungs in the "quiet as a cemetary on a cold, dark, winter's night" sanctuary

"DON'T SPANK ME DADDY! DON'T BEAT ME DADDY! PLEASE, PLEASE NO! DON'T SPANK ME DADDY!"

{as if}

Needless to say, Daddy Buck and Buck-a-roo never returned to Mass and Frank-o and I made an early exit in an attempt to avoid the glares, snarls, laughter, humiliation that would follow when church was dismissed.

Funny, I know this story, my 4 year old loves to say,"Daddy hit me!"
when she accidently bumps into him.
So much drama!
