Harley's Motor-Scooter / Cody's new "frim"

The motor-scooter is the result of Harley's engineering. He calls it "tricky"; I call it dangerous ingenius.

YES, that is Cody's finger and YES, that is a super-crazy, two-bodied, two-headed bug that Cody was calling his "frim" (a.k.a. friend) up-until the moment that I accidentally stepped on it squished it with my shoe. And, NO, I am not that close to it--that is the use of some super-duper mega zoom (you think I would be that close to that thing??)!! What the HE** is it??

Friday Night Arcade

Jack is working late tonight and all of our neighborhood friends have gone out of town dodging Hurricane Gustav for the long Labor Day weekend, so I decided I would brave the pizza place/arcade for Friday night entertainment. The boys were good and had a terrific time; Harley most enjoyed the motorcycle ride and Cody was somewhat obsessed with the basketball toss. We left with 25+ trinkets, including a dozen Tootsie Rolls, that I purchased they won with their "tickets".

Mr. Big Stuff...Who do you think you are???

YES, that is my coffee table that Cody has perched himself on to watch TV...seriously, you have GOT to be kidding me??

Me: "Cody, what are you doing?"
Cody: "Watchin' TV...Dora on"
Me: "Why are you sitting on the coffee table?"
Cody: "Cuz, I see"
RIGHT!!! Crazy me...

Me: "Cody, you need to get down off the table and you are sitting too close to the TV"

Why get down when you can simply "scootch" back a little and still be on the table...best seat in the house!!

Macho, even when he sleeps...I swear he's not faking it, he is sound asleep with his leg crossed over his knee!!

Kids (in all their glory)

Stinky, sweaty, runny-nosed, food-covered faces, bruised bodies, filthy-clothed neighborhood friends;but, oh so blue-eyed, smling, laughing, running, jumping, and having a blast!!

Now I Said My ABCs.....

**pause the music player at the bottom of the page to hear the video clips**

Enjoy this video clip of Cody reciting his ABCs
(Note the Bob the Builder goggles):

And, here's the translation per Harley
(note the "bisor", a.k.a. visor):

Out of the mouths of our 2 & 3 y/o's

this is the conversation that Harley and I had in the truck not too long ago:

Harley: {whining} "Mom, I have somephin on my tooth"
Me: "What is it?"
Harley: "Somephin"
Me: "Ok, like what?" {dumbfounded}
Harley: "A booger!!!"
Me: {laughing} "How did that get there?"
Harley: "I ate it and it got stuck on my tooth...get it off Mommy {screaming}!!!"
Me: {laughing hysterically....as I look into his mouth to see if I can see it} "Your daddy will help you brush your teeth when we get home" (whhewww! got out of that one)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this is a typical conversation that ensues with Cody at bedtime after at least three rounds of hugs and kisses and the lights go out:

Cody: " 'nother kiss Mommy"
Me: "No Cody, we will have another kiss in the morning"
Cody: " 'nother hug big, tight Mommy"
Me: "No Cody, we will have another hug in the morning"
Cody: {sitting up now} " 'more juice (which really means soymilk) Mommy"
Me: "No Cody, we will have more milk in the morning"
Cody: {as he gathers up 5 or 6 of his animals} "These for Daddy"
Me: "Daddy is at work(/showering/doing chores)" {we take turns laying with them at night}
Cody: "Need Daddy"

do you get the idea??....this could go on for at least 10-15 minutes. i have to keep from laughing myself while it is happening!!

Uh-Oh Daddy-O

Because every chaotic event within our family is post-worthy, I thought I would share these photos with you all. However, because I am the only one making the postings on our family blog, I am sure I won't live this down for quite some time...

Without the explanantion coming straight from my mouth, I am quite certain you can put two and two together from the pictures above and the pictures below...

It's left up to your imagination to decide whether the mishap in our front yard was the result of the lawn mower or the kiddie four-wheeler...

DSR "Group-ee" - Take 2

David St. Romain (see the previous blog for who he is...) played again at the Baton Rouge Airport today for their 60th anniversary celebration; it was a family-friendly atomosphere and we were able to take the boys. Seems that our boys may be "rock stars" at heart...we were positioned on the front row and Jack and I were somewhat nervous that it might be too LOUD for them. Not so...they "rocked" out the entire time!!
